This new set of rules recreates small-unit skirmishes set in North America from 1753-1764 (but can also be used to recreate virtually any skirmish in the Horse & Musket Era).

Players will be maneuvering and fighting with units of 5-20 men.

The rules are easy-to-learn and simple-to-use. Units use various formations such as formed and skirmish, as well as different volumes of firing to capture the limitations and effectiveness of muzzle-loading black-powder weapons. Melee is fast and brutal. Terrain plays a major part in any engagement and can help or hinder the goals of the player. All of these elements come together to recreate the tactics and essence of warfare of the period in North America without using charts to produce combat results and without the need for tedious record keeping.

Wilderness Wars

Wilderness Wars© is is meant to simulate company and battalion-sized conflicts in the eighteenth-century and early nineteenth-century. 

Wilderness Wars© strives to provide rules specifically designed for scenarios in which the opposing armies typically numbered anywhere from 500 to 10,000 men each while maintaining the unique flavor of Wars in the Wilderness.

Wilderness War is designed for 15mm but works equally well with 25mm figures. Modification to the ranges, Movement rates, or any other aspect of the rules is unnecessary. With only slight modification, these rules can be adapted to most mounting systems.
